2007 Annual Mint Set - Dún Aonghasa
This is the fifth in the Heritage series of coin sets produced by the Central Bank in collaboration with the OPW, featuring some of Ireland’s national monuments, parks, gardens and nature reserves.
Dún Aonghasa is the largest of the prehistoric stone forts of the Aran Islands, perched spectacularly on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic ocean. The fort has been described as one of the most magnificent of its kind in Europe. It comprises three concentric semicircles and covers an area of 11 acres. It has three enclosures with the innermost giving the visitor an amazing view of Inishmore and the Connemara Coast.
The set is comprised of the eight circulating coins for 2007, each coin is struck to uncirculated quality and is enclosed within the protective wallet. An outer slipcase completes the colourful presentation.

Mintage : Limited to only 20,000, which is low for Irish Euro sets.
